Setting up for Export to iCal files |
Top Previous Next |
If you're interested in setting up Campground Master to export to "iCalendar" files, aka "iCal" files, the following areas need to be addressed. (See the related sections for details.)
Note that this refers only to making iCal files available to other services to show your availability -- this setup is not necessary for attaching iCal files to E-mail confirmations to add the reservation to the individual guest's calendar.
•Enable iCal exporting under Online Connections & Options / iCal.
•If you want Campground Master to also upload the files, make sure you have FTP access to your web site to upload the files once they're generated, and set up the FTP connection settings for uploading the iCal files.
•Enable the Site data fields "Site_Online_iCal_Ex", "Site_Online_iCal_Unavailable" and/or "Site_Online_iCal_Release_Days" if you want to limit online or offline availability of sites.
•Find out the details required for the iCal formatting from any services you plan to use (e.g. AirBnB). This may include filename requirements as well as field formats for the Summary, UID, Location and Description fields and also matching up unit names with your Sites in Campground Master. See the Profiles information for more details.
•Enable any Site data fields needed to support special formatting requirements above (e.g. filename, site name, summary, etc). If you're exporting for more than one service, this may require adding additional custom fields.
•Create one or more iCal Profiles to be used when generating the files.
•Fill in the Site data fields above with the appropriate values.
Note that this functionality is often used in conjunction with the iCal Import functionality, so you may also want to see that section (Importing iCal Files).
