Uploading Site Availability Data

Top  Previous  Next

Once all processing is done, or any time you want to update the sites available on your web site (if using Export to Web Vacancy Grid) or Hercules (if using the 2-way interface), then access this function through Reservations / Retrieve Online Reservations.  It's not necessary to retrieve or process any requests before using the Upload function here -- you can do it any time, for instance after entering reservations locally, if you want to keep the online information current.

The type of "Upload" done will depend on the Source selected, as described below.

Hercules 2-way -- This will upload any new reservations or changes to reservations waiting in the queue.  This is not necessary if the Outgoing mode is "Fully Automatic", only if it's "Manual".

E-mail -- Regardless of where the E-mail requests actually come from, the Upload function for the E-mail source is actually the same as the Export to Web Vacancy Grid function through File / Export.  However when you use the Upload function here, it will automatically do both the Export step and the Upload step in a single click, without showing the Export to Web setup dialog.  This assumes of course that the Export to Web FTP settings have been set up in Online Reservations - Connections & Options.  Otherwise it will export the pages and then show an error message indicating that it can't do the upload step.

iCal files -- This will export and optionally upload the iCal files as directed by the iCal Profiles.  See the section Exporting to iCal Files for more details.

Reservation Friend (old 1-way interface) -- Uploading site availability is only available for the Hercules 2-way service, not the legacy 1-way interface.
